A Note from the Author

"I almost shipped this guide without verifying the Tier 4→5 material costs. Good thing I did — my initial estimate was off by 30% (I had written 25 Scolecite Ore, but actual is 30). Always double-check your numbers against an in-game test. This is also why we have David on the team: he caught 47 errors across our 30+ guides in our last monthly review. If you find a discrepancy, please report it. — Elena"

Crafting Overview

Crimson Desert's crafting system is divided into five disciplines: Smithing (weapons and heavy armor), Tailoring (light armor and cloth), Alchemy (potions and elixirs), Cooking (food buffs), and Engineering (tools and accessories).

Each discipline has its own skill level (1-50) that increases by crafting items. Higher skill levels unlock better recipes and improve crafting yields.

Crafting Stations

Forge (Smithing): Found in Hernand, Mount Tyras, and most major settlements. Tier 1 forges handle basic weapons and armor. Tier 2 forges (unlocked at Smithing Level 10) handle Tempered Steel and above. Tier 3 forges (Level 25) handle legendary crafting.

Loom (Tailoring): Found alongside forges in most settlements. Tier 1 handles basic cloth and leather. Tier 2 (Level 10) handles enchanted fabrics. Tier 3 (Level 25) handles legendary garments.

Alchemy Table: Found in the Church of Solumen, the Library, and the Underground Network hideout. Required for all potion and elixir crafting.

Kitchen/Campfire (Cooking): Campfires are portable and can be set anywhere. Kitchens are found in settlements and offer a 10% cooking speed bonus.

Workbench (Engineering): Found in the Spire of Clockwork and the Library. Required for crafting tools, accessories, and mechanical items.

Best Recipes to Prioritize

1. Tempered Steel Ingot (Smithing Lv15) — The backbone of mid-to-late game crafting. Make 20+ at once when you unlock this recipe.

2. Warlord's Stew (Cooking) — +15% Attack and HP regen for 30 minutes. The best all-around combat buff food.

3. Moonlight Elixir (Alchemy) — Emergency heal with stun immunity. A lifesaver against bosses with knockdown attacks.

4. Ranger's Cloak (Tailoring Lv10) — -30% enemy aggro range. Essential for stealth builds and dungeon exploration.

5. Shadow Dust (Alchemy) — Smoke bomb effect for stealth and escape. Stack 5-10 for chain stealth in dangerous areas.

Material Farming Routes

Iron Ore Route: Start at Hernand → follow the mountain path north → mine 8 ore veins → return via the Great River. ~40 Iron Ore per loop.

Wolf Pelt Route: Northern Mountain wolf spawns at night. Hunt in a circuit between 3 spawn points. ~15 pelts per hour.

Moonpetal Route: Hernand meadows at night only. 6 spawn points within 200m. ~12 petals per night cycle.

Crystal Dust Route: Northern Caves Crystal Golem spawns. Kill 4 golems per cave, rotate between 3 caves. ~20 dust per hour.

General Tip: The Pack Beaver pet auto-gathers wood, and the Trader's Belt increases sell prices by 8% — both reduce farming time significantly.

Crafting Skill Leveling Guide

Smithing 1-20: Craft Iron Ingots → Iron Nails → Basic Weapon Parts. Use the Forge in Hernand.

Smithing 20-50: Craft Tempered Steel Ingots → Tier 3 weapons → Tier 3 armor. Move to the Tier 2 forge in Mount Tyras.

Tailoring 1-20: Craft Cloth Bands → Leather Straps → Basic Cloth Armor. Use the Loom in Hernand.

Tailoring 20-50: Craft Ranger's Cloak → Enchanted Cloth → Legendary Garments. Use the Tier 2 Loom.

Alchemy 1-50: Start with Basic Potions → Mana Elixirs → Moonlight Elixir. Alchemy levels faster than other crafts.

Cooking 1-50: Start with Grilled Meat → Stews → Warlord's Stew. Cooking is the easiest and cheapest to level.
